Want some graphic facilitation training in the US?

One of our partners in the United States is offering a foundational graphic facilitation training. Crowley & Co have been training The Grove style of graphic recording and how to integrate those tools into meeting facilitation for many years. Deirdre Crowley has over 15 years experience in graphics for meetings, organisational communications and in the meeting facilitation space. Her training is quite popular and quite inspirational.

The training is 2.5 days in the Potomac, Maryland area from April 20-22. You can learn more about the contents and approach to this workshop at the Crowley & Co website.

If you are interested in learning more about graphic facilitation and how it can support your meeting energy, group focus, commitment to agreements and the like give us a call at +44 (0)1628 471 114 or drop us a note via our contact form and tell us what you want to explore about making your meetings more productive.

Happy Anniversary to us!

Today is our one year anniversary! One year ago we separated the visual thinking and graphic recording offerings from Meeting Magic to create Scribing Magic as a co-brand and co-creator for working with clients across the board. We are excited about our success so far and look forward to another year of growth and supporting our great clients.

Thank you to those who have engaged us with your visual work. And thank you to our team of graphic recorders, admin and website developers. It has been a very great year. Onward and upward!

If you want to explore how to engage visually and graphically with your groups, with graphic recording, storymaps / rich pictures, corporate animations, illustrations and company cartooning and other visual methods, give us a call at +44 (0)1628 471 114 or complete the contact form with some details of your events. We’ll get back to you as quickly as we can.

Is creativity in meetings a waste of time?

We support all types of creativity in meetings.

We support all types of creativity in meetings.

There seems to be an increasing desire to include creative ways of interacting within meetings. There is positive thinking on this and there are those who feel that adding creativity into meetings is a distraction and unhelpful. Continue Reading…

Can graphic recording in meetings be fun, too?

Our fearless leader scribing on a large post it to add, doubtlessly great, content to our discussion.

If our internal meetings are anything to go by then the answer is “Yes!” graphic recording or scribing can add some elements of fun to meetings. And why not? Dull, droll, dour meetings, even if they are data driven, don’t engage or help with institutional memory (except maybe that our institution has dull, droll and dour meetings). The legacy we aim to achieve in Meeting Magic and Scribing Magic is a fun place to work with engaging and stimulating meetings. Can these happy campers be anything but fun to work with?!

When you add graphics to a meeting are you just jazzing up command and control or are you collaborting...really?

Scribing change

This topsy-turvey world of ours is in a huge change process, moving from one way of working to something new. What that is will be revealed in time and, apparently, with much pain. Continue Reading…

What is your visual metaphor?

Pictures speak louder than words. One picture is worth a thousand words. Picture it! These phrases and many more like them are part of our daily speech and zeitgeist.

How do we put them into practice? Especially in the organisational context? Visual thinking within groups, teams and entire companies has become a new paradigm. Major global corporations and small start ups are engaging visually. Picture what I am saying is becoming a norm. Continue Reading…

Scribing Magic in British Airways inflight magazine

British Gas – Graphic Recording illustration detail

A section of one of John Ashton’s graphic recordings.

Both Scribing Magic and Meeting Magic are featured in Picture This by Sorrel Downer with illustrations by Neil Webb in the July 2014 issue of British Airways inflight magazine Business Life. John Ashton was interviewed for the piece.

The article is an engaging and accurate description of both graphic facilitation and graphic recording for meetings. We recommend the read and hope you find it stimulating. We are happy to help with any graphic recording, illustrations, animations, cartooning or visual communications projects you have coming up. Give us a shout to talk about what you read in the article or best meeting solutions for your organisation.
